IMMINGHAM RENEWABLE FUELS TERMINAL (IRFT)

PCM Scaffold & Access provided scaffold services to the build and maintenance of the £130 million renewable fuels terminal (IRFT) at Immingham Docks. The IRFT is a major new facility for importing, storing and onward transport of biomass fuel to the Drax power stations. The 11.5 acre facility has the capability of storing up to 100,000 tonnes of wood pellet.

Providing access solutions at all stages of the build

The construction phase of this project started in 2015 and PMC provided scaffold for main contractor GRAHAM construction for the building of the 65m storage silos.

PMC provided over 40 men, working across an 18 month period, on a 24 hour shift cover to facilitate this rigorous and complex build and to meet the tight contruction deadline.

Since handover, we have continued to provide access solutions for ABP for ongoing maintenance of the facility.

The working environment on a busy docks and in a hazardous area requires a high level of competency and experience of working in these areas.
